Welcome to the Mike Farmer Website

“Thank you for considering my customized disc jockey and lighting services for your upcoming wedding or special event. Customized Disc Jockey Entertainment” is more than just a slogan; I truly listen to my client’s wants and needs. It is for this reason that I encourage my clients to give me not only a list of songs they want to have played, but also a list of those that they don’t want to hear. It seems everyone has a song or a style of music that they just do not, under any circumstances, want to have played at their event. I honor those requests.

I’m often asked what my “style” is. That’s a hard question to answer. I generally tell people that there is a fine line in this business. There are DJs at one end of the spectrum who will literally not say a word. They are afraid to use the microphone. Then, of course, there are those at the other end of the spectrum who think it’s all about them, and they don’t shut up. I’m a lot more than an iPod or a jukebox, but less than a nightclub comedian. A sense of humor? Yes, I have one, and I know when to use it and when to keep it to myself. Please read the “Applause” page of my website to see what others think.

I like to say I have three jobs and two goals on the day of an event. The jobs are: music programmer, emcee, and coordinator. The two goals are: make it fun, and make sure it runs smoothly. If I can pull off those things, I know the client will be happy.

The entertainment you choose is critical to the success of your party, wedding or other special event. The old adage, “You get what you pay for,” has never had more meaning. This is not the place to go “discount” on the event budget. But don’t take it from me. Ask other industry professionals if there’s really a difference in DJs. You might be very surprised at what you hear, and very glad you asked.

Please take a look at the rest of my site and then give me a call if you would like to set up a time to meet and talk about your upcoming event. I look forward to speaking with you.

All the best,

-Mike Farmer
